                        Why We Do It

                        Picture
Good News Reuse™ was inspired by the simple, practical beauty of Great Grandma Olivia’s vintage blue glass canning jars and striped ceramic bread bowl with metal lid. Reused for over 125 years, they still function like new.

Single-use consumption is unfortunately, standard practice in the food and beverage world today. Good News Reuse™ is a company comprised of people who are foodies, environmentalists, and proven entrepreneurs. We are excited about creating simple reusable solutions that provide alternatives to single-use disposable waste.

                        What we’ve learned:
                        • Recycling and composting are beneficial when implemented properly, but these programs are often ineffective because food contaminated containers are not recyclable in most communities, only compostable
                        • BPAs and other harmful chemicals with substantiated health risks can be found in recycled cardboard, plastic, and some metals
                        • Current practices perpetuate a single-use mentality among consumers, particularly school age children
                        • There is a need for sustainable products that replace single-use disposables
                        • Perpetual use of single-use food and beverage containers is not sustainable

                        What we can do…good news:
                        • Sustainable practices can be beautiful and functional, like Great Grandma Olivia’s canning jars and bread bowl
                        • Conserving resources can easily become a good habit (think reusable grocery bags)
                        • Each conscious consumer choice can make a global difference
                        • People, especially kids, learn by doing
                        • By implementing healthy practices in schools, a whole generation will learn how important sustainability is and how possible it can be
