Susan Lopes co-created Good News Reuse™ to combine her life-long love for all things food-related with her concern for the environment. She is the creative force behind the company and is fully dedicated to providing reusable sustainable solutions to the unsustainable waste inherent in current food industry practices.
A serial entrepreneur, Susan has founded and successfully operated two businesses. She founded and recruited for an executive search firm, Shelling Lopes Associates, partnering with mainstream food and beverage manufacturers. She went on to carve out a niche in the emerging Natural Foods industry. Susan began her career as co-founder and COO of Dozens, Inc. dba MuffinsMuffins, a wholesale/six-store retail bakery café chain in San Francisco. Most recently, while conducting research and development for Good News Reuse™, Susan worked as Director of Ingredients (people) at Foodbuzz, a San Francisco-based Internet/social community start-up acquired by Federated Media.
Susan’s vast food service experience includes manufacturing and distribution, wholesale and retail sales, and marketing and operations management. Susan has consulted for numerous environmental organizations including NRDC, International Rivers Network and Solar Richmond and supports organizations such as the Sierra Club, Marin Organic, Slow Food, and Project Lunch.
